We started Kadenze with the mission to offer the very best courses in art and creative technology to anyone in the world. It’s been just over a year since our launch, and we’ve seen countless examples of inspiring works in our student galleries, and vibrant conversations in our forums. We realized just how important it is for our students to have fuller access to excellent training and education, and even better ways to gain recognition for their success. Together with our partners, we couldn’t be more excited to announce our latest endeavor: Kadenze Programs.
Programs enable you to engage in a deeper understanding of a subject through a series of uniquely curated courses, and earn a specialized certification across a number of subjects that we’ve long wanted to host on Kadenze—including photography, design, music, and motion graphics. We’ll also be introducing Programs on the subjects we’re known for: creative coding, music technology, entrepreneurship, deep learning, and more.
Somewhere between a single course and the on-campus experience, we’ve carefully designed Programs for learners who are looking to hone their skill set. Many of our Programs also provide transferable college credit, giving students an accessible path to learn from world-class instructors, and accelerate their college degree.
To mark the occasion, we’re launching this new initiative with programs from California Institute of the Arts, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Ringling College of Art and Design, Paris College of Art, and Simon Fraser University. We’re also thrilled to announce 5 new partner schools are joining us: Rhode Island School of Design, Columbus College of Art and Design, Arizona State University (Herberger School of Art), Pacific Northwest College of Art, and School of Visual Arts.
How it works
- Join a Program to unlock exclusive course content.
- Gain a robust understanding of the subject with our project-based learning model.
- After completing all courses and related projects in a Program, complete a final summative assessment.
- Receive your verified Specialist Certificate recognizing your ability, and depending on the Program, receive transferable college credits at no additional cost.
The first two programs immediately available are Foundations of Music Technology from California Institute of the Arts and Generative Art and Computational Creativity from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada. Ten other creative programs will launch throughout 2017.
